  • Gill III Hematoxylin is the most powerful and fastest stain in the Gill series. It is triple the strength of Gill I and 1.5x stronger than Gill II.
  • It is formulated as per Dr. G. W. Gill’s original formula, containing 6g/L Hematoxylin – the maximum concentration possible while keeping it progressive.
  • It is designed for High-Volume Pathology Labs, Frozen Sections, Urgent Biopsies, and Automated Tissue Stainers where staining time must be under 60 seconds.
  • If the lab does >500 H&E slides per day or uses an automatic slide stainer, Gill III is the appropriate variant to achieve intense nuclear staining in just 45 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Fastest Gill Stain – 45 Second Staining: Triple strength means fastest turnaround.
  • Best for Automated Stainers: Specifically designed for auto-stainers. Low viscosity, 0.2 micron filtered, high glycol content prevents drying on stainer nozzles and prevents precipitate clogging.
  • High-Contrast Nuclear Stain: Gives darkest blue nuclei among all progressive stains. Ideal for low-power scanning (4x). Tissue architecture, invasion, margins are visible instantly. Pathologists who like dark Harris-type H&E love Gill III.
  • Zero Scum, Zero Daily Filtering: Unlike Harris which forms black scum in 24 hours and blocks auto-stainer lines, Gill III has no metallic scum even after 30 days in open stainer jar. No slide artifacts.
  • Mercury-Free, Stable for 24 Months: Stable, safe, and consistent till last drop. No ripening needed.
  • Pack: 500ml, 1L, 2.5L Amber Glass/HDPE
High-Density Progressive Lake
Same proven Gill mechanism, but with triple dye load for instant saturation.

  • Step 1 – Maximum Lake Density: 6g/L Hematein + Aluminum Sulfate creates a very high-density Aluminum-Hematein Lake with maximum positive charge.
  • Step 2 – Ultra-Fast Binding: Due to high dye concentration, electrostatic binding to nuclear DNA is almost instant. Nuclear binding sites get saturated in 45 seconds.
  • Step 3 – Still Progressive: Despite being very strong, it is STILL progressive – it will NOT over-stain black like Harris. After 2 minutes, staining intensity plateaus. This gives a safety window.
  • Step 4 – Intense Blue Conversion: On washing with tap water, nuclei turn to deep intense blue-black, giving high contrast with Eosin.
Result: Very Dark Blue, High-Contrast Nucleus – Perfect for fast screening under low power (4x, 10x). Pathologist can see tissue architecture instantly.
  • For High-Volume Labs (>500 slides/day):
    1. 1. Maximum Throughput: 1 minute per batch vs 4 minutes for Harris. You can process 60 extra batches per day. Total TAT reduced by 40%.
      2. Comparable Cost with Harris + Acid Alcohol: Gill III eliminates Acid Alcohol purchase. No repeat staining, no filter paper cost.
      3. Auto-Stainer Compatible: No clogging, no precipitate, no daily filtering. Service engineer cost saved.
  • For Pathologists:
    1. 1. Dark, Crisp, High-Contrast H&E: Gives the dark blue nuclei that senior pathologists are used to from Harris, but with transparent chromatin of Gill. Best of both worlds.
      2. Perfect for Biopsy & Resections: Intense stain penetrates dense tissues like Uterus Leiomyoma, Prostate TURP chips, Squamous Cell Carcinoma easily in 1 minute. Harris often needs 5-6 minutes for such tissues.
  • For Frozen Section Labs:
    1. 1. Rapid Intra-Operative Diagnosis: 90-second H&E protocol with Gill III is now standard in many oncology OT complexes.
  • Technical Specifications :
  • Specification Details
    Type Triple-Strength Progressive Aluminum Hematoxylin
    pH 2.0 – 2.5
    Staining Time 30 sec – 1 min
Shelf Life 24 Months at RT
Grade Histology Grade – For Automated & Manual Use
  • Important Note :
    1. Gill III is a very strong stain. For delicate biopsies (endometrium, bone marrow) and for PAP cytology, reduce time to 20-30 seconds or use Gill I/II. Overstaining may mask fine chromatin if left for >2 minutes.
