Rapid Bone Marrow Decalcifier is a next-generation, dual-action decalcifying solution specially designed for busy histopathology labs that need SPEED without compromising IHC quality.
It combines the gentle chelation power of EDTA with a very low concentration of buffered mild acid to accelerate calcium removal. Unlike strong acid decalcifiers (5-10% Nitric / Hydrochloric Acid), its buffered, low-acid formulation ensures excellent preservation of cellular morphology, antigens, and nucleic acids.
It is the perfect balance between 72-hour slow EDTA and 2 hour harsh Acid decalcifiers.
Ideal For: Bone Marrow Trephine Biopsy for urgent reporting, STAT marrow cases, high workload labs, and bone biopsies where same-day / next-day TAT is required.

Dual Action Technology : This solution works in 2 phases simultaneously:

Phase 1 – Rapid Acid Attackv :

The mild buffered acid quickly dissolves the outer mineral layer of the bony trabeculae, opening up micro-channels in the dense bone.

Phase 2 – EDTA Chelation & Protection :

EDTA immediately captures the released calcium ions through chelation and prevents re-precipitation. At the same time, the neutral buffering system protects proteins and DNA from acid hydrolysis.

Result: Bone is softened 3x faster than pure EDTA, but cells remain intact like pure EDTA.

Get STAT bone marrow reports without sacrificing IHC. Crisp nuclear chromatin, intact megakaryocytes, and strong IHC expression even after rapid decalcification. The best alternative to slow EDTA when time matters.
