SlideBond™ Adhesive is the gold-standard, covalent-bonding tissue adhesive for labs doing Immunohistochemistry (IHC), In-Situ Hybridization (ISH), and Fluorescence In-Situ Hybridization (FISH).
Normal slides and even “charged” slides fail in harsh IHC / FISH protocols because they use weak electrostatic attraction. Expensive biopsy tissue washes off during HIER (pressure cooker boiling), enzyme digestion (Proteinase K), and high-temperature hybridization (90°C).
SlideBond™ creates a permanent, chemical covalent bond between the glass slide and the tissue section. Once bonded, the section will NEVER detach, even after 4 hours of boiling and 24 hours of hybridization.

Why Labs Prefer SlideBond™ Over Poly-L-Lysine and Charged Slides?

Poly-L-Lysine: Only ionic bond, washes off in alkaline retrieval (pH 9.0) and during FISH. Also causes high non-specific background.
Commercial Charged Slides: Expensive, coating thickness varies batch-to-batch, and lose charge after 6 months.

FISH / ISH / IHC Validated: Specifically optimized to withstand Pressure Cooker HIER (pH 6.0 & pH 9.0), Microwave retrieval, PT-Link, Proteinase K (15 min), Pepsin (30 min), and Formamide hybridization at 80-90°C.
Zero Background: Unlike Poly-L-Lysine, SlideBond is molecularly thin (monolayer) and does NOT pick up Hematoxylin or DAB, so background is crystal clear.

Covalent Bonding Chemistry
1. This is a 3-step chemical reaction, not just stickiness :

Step 1 – Activation: Glass slide surface has Silanol groups (Si-OH). When dipped in SlideBond, its Ethoxy groups (-OCH2CH3) react with Si-OH.
Step 2 – Silanization: It forms a strong, irreversible Siloxane Bond (Si-O-Si) with the glass. One end is now permanently anchored to the slide.
Step 3 – Amine Exposure: Amine group forms strong electrostatic and covalent cross-links with negatively charged tissue proteins (Carboxyl groups of tissue sections).
