Modified Harris Hematoxylin is the Progressive & Regressive Nuclear Stain for H&E and Cytology, it is most versatile, mercury-free hematoxylin formulation. An improved version of the classic Harris Hematoxylin, it is optimized for consistent, crisp blue-black nuclear detail with excellent differentiation control. Ideal for Routine Histology, PAP Smears, and Frozen Sections.

Hematein (oxidized hematoxylin) forms a positively charged lake with Aluminum mordant.
This lake binds to negatively charged phosphate groups of nuclear DNA via electrostatic attraction.
Sodium iodate ensures complete conversion of hematoxylin to hematein, giving consistent staining intensity from first to last ml.
Acetic acid increases selectivity for nuclei over cytoplasm, preventing background staining.

For Pathologist:

Crystal clear nucleus with transparent cytoplasm – Better N:C ratio assessment, prominent nucleoli, no over-staining artifacts in colon, breast, cervix biopsies.

For Technician:

Saves 15 minutes per batch – No filtering daily, no heating, no pH adjustment. Forgiving – 2 to 10 minutes staining window gives same result. Excellent for autostainers and manual staining.
