Orcein Stain Kit
Orcein Stain Kit is a special histological staining system used for the demonstration of elastic fibres and hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in tissue sections. It is particularly useful in liver histopathology, where orcein staining can demonstrate elastic fibres and, with appropriate staining conditions, provide histochemical visualization of HBsAg-associated material.

Orcein is an acidic dye that has an affinity for elastic tissue components and certain associated tissue substances. In liver sections, the stain can produce characteristic brown to dark-brown staining of elastic fibres and may demonstrate HBsAg as brown granular/cytoplasmic deposits in hepatocytes when present.
