- The Ultrafast Leishman Stain Kit works on the Romanowsky staining principle. Its dye system contains acidic and basic staining components that interact differentially with cellular structures.
- Basic dye components bind preferentially to acidic structures such as nuclear chromatin, while acidic dye components contribute to staining of basic cellular components. Their interaction produces characteristic blue-purple to violet nuclear staining and differential pink, lilac and purple shades in cytoplasm and cellular granules.
- The accelerated staining protocols are designed to achieve the required differential staining within either 75 seconds or 4 minutes, depending on the selected laboratory protocol.
